Midsummer is coming!
Join us for the traditional family-friendly Midsummer celebration on Friday, June 20th from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Niihama Outdoor Lodge!
Enjoy a relaxed Midsummer evening in the heart of nature with good food, live music, and the charming Niihama bunnies and sheep.
The event is suitable for all ages!
Troubadour Pekka Mikkonen will perform from 5 PM to 7 PM – expect classic rock and pop tunes from a seasoned musician!
Available throughout the event:
– Warm salmon soup
– Delicious sweet waffles
– Hot and cold drinks
– Ice cream to celebrate the summer!
The Outdoor Lodge will be open throughout the event. On Saturday, June 21st, we're open as usual from 10 AM to 6 PM.

Niihaman Ulkoilumaja Café will be serving movie snacks all evening — including grilled sausages, waffles, and refreshments. Ulkoilumaja's sauna is open from 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM (8€ per visitor). Come and meet the rabbits and sheep in the yard!
Limited seating available — we recommend bringing your own camping chair.
In case of heavy rain, the screening will be cancelled (light drizzle won't stop us). Any cancellation will be announced by noon on the day of the event on our website and at
www.facebook.com/Filmipyora.
- Our casual public sauna sessions run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 16:00 to 19:00. Grab your swimwear and enjoy a relaxing escape!
Last summer, our animal camps for children were a huge hit! We are now accepting early interest for the 2025 day camps. Details and final dates will be announced when the animals return for the summer season at Niihama.

The surroundings of Niihaman Ulkoilumaja offer a variety of activities in nature, both in winter and summer. Its central location along Kauppi's illuminated outdoor trail provides excellent opportunities for enjoying nature and exercise all year round. Niihaman Ulkoilumaja serves as a hub for many nature trails, making it an ideal base for outdoor adventures and hiking. In fact, it's known as the perfect halfway meeting spot.
Niihamajärvi Nature Trail
A 2.7 km nature trail encircles lake Niihamajärvi, offering beautiful scenery and an excellent opportunity to enjoy nature on foot, whether walking, jogging with your dog, or even running.

- A 10.2 km marked mountain bike trail is available year-round, offering varied terrain and challenges for cyclists of all levels.

Outdoor Gym and Games
- Our yard features an outdoor gym for strength training, along with games such as mölkky, ring toss, and darts. There's also a sandpit for the little ones. This setup provides fun for both individuals and groups.

In Winter:
Cross-Country Skiing
Kauppi's illuminated outdoor trail transforms into a cross-country skiing route during winter. When conditions permit, the trail runs all the way from Kauppi to Kangasala! A modern, well-maintained network of trails is available for skiers.

Sledding and Sliding
- Our yard features a traditional winter ride where riders glide in circles as the sled spins around a central pole, along with a slide for winter fun. Perfect for families and children!
Ice Skating and Pedal Sledding
- When the ice conditions permitting, designated areas are prepared for ice skating and pedal sledding, further enhancing your winter outdoor experience.
No matter the season, Niihaman Ulkoilumaja is an excellent destination for active outdoor pursuits and embracing nature! With convenient access to Kauppi's illuminated outdoor trail, it's ideal for long runs, bike rides, or walks, whether in daylight or under the evening sky.
In Summer:
Niihama's Summer Animals
- During the summer season, guests at Niihama can admire bunnies and lambs free of charge. We also host day camps focused on animal care.
