-Twilight Adventures 2025 – Reflector Trail in Niihama
Join Tampereen Taivaltajat for the magical Reflector Trail on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., as part of the Hämärähommat (Twilight Adventures) campaign by Suomen Latu. This cozy, family-friendly event invites everyone to enjoy the autumn forest after dark along a 2.5 km trail around Pikku-Niihamajärvi, lit with reflectors, surprises, and small activity stops.
Niihama Outdoor Café stays open late, offering warm rice porridge and campfire treats. Bring your own flashlight or headlamp and a reflector vest, and dress for the weather.

Come for the glow of the fire, soft sauna steam, and a steaming bowl of soup!
We still have some availability for the Kota and sauna book your slot easily via the online calendar on our website.

A gentle reminder for sauna lovers: public sauna every Tuesday & Thursday, 4–7 pm, all year round.

A fun and slightly spooky family adventure at Niihama Outdoor Lodge on Saturday, November 1st, 2025!
Explore the dark forest by map and flashlight – or join the daylight trail if you prefer a gentler experience.

- Our casual public sauna sessions run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 16:00 to 19:00. Grab your swimwear and enjoy a relaxing escape!
Last summer, our animal camps for children were a huge hit! We are now accepting early interest for the 2025 day camps. Details and final dates will be announced when the animals return for the summer season at Niihama.

The surroundings of Niihaman Ulkoilumaja offer a variety of activities in nature, both in winter and summer. Its central location along Kauppi's illuminated outdoor trail provides excellent opportunities for enjoying nature and exercise all year round. Niihaman Ulkoilumaja serves as a hub for many nature trails, making it an ideal base for outdoor adventures and hiking. In fact, it's known as the perfect halfway meeting spot.
Niihamajärvi Nature Trail
A 2.7 km nature trail encircles lake Niihamajärvi, offering beautiful scenery and an excellent opportunity to enjoy nature on foot, whether walking, jogging with your dog, or even running.

- A 10.2 km marked mountain bike trail is available year-round, offering varied terrain and challenges for cyclists of all levels.

Outdoor Gym and Games
- Our yard features an outdoor gym for strength training, along with games such as mölkky, ring toss, and darts. There's also a sandpit for the little ones. This setup provides fun for both individuals and groups.
Nature Escape
- A nature escape game is an experience inspired by escape room games, played outdoors. In the game, the team has 60 minutes to solve tasks and puzzles related to the game's story. Team cooperation is at the heart of everything. You can book your own nature escape game for your group through us!

In Winter:
Cross-Country Skiing
Kauppi's illuminated outdoor trail transforms into a cross-country skiing route during winter. When conditions permit, the trail runs all the way from Kauppi to Kangasala! A modern, well-maintained network of trails is available for skiers.

Sledding and Sliding
- Our yard features a traditional winter ride where riders glide in circles as the sled spins around a central pole, along with a slide for winter fun. Perfect for families and children!
Ice Skating and Pedal Sledding
- When the ice conditions permitting, designated areas are prepared for ice skating and pedal sledding, further enhancing your winter outdoor experience.
No matter the season, Niihaman Ulkoilumaja is an excellent destination for active outdoor pursuits and embracing nature! With convenient access to Kauppi's illuminated outdoor trail, it's ideal for long runs, bike rides, or walks, whether in daylight or under the evening sky.
